Water Jet Cutting: Rubbers & Plastics

Abrasive waterjets like Jetcut’s, can machine composites without leaving a burr or shredding the layers of material, while maintaining a better edge quality. Many layered materials, from sandwiched plastics to wood laminates, can be finished beautifully using waterjet.

Rubber and Foam can be cut with a water-only nozzle for faster and cleaner cutting, though some very hard rubbers may require abrasive. Water-only cutting wastes little material, and the cutting process is extremely rapid, allowing production times to be greatly reduced.

Waterjet cutting is ideal for producing foam or plastic packaging components, whether it be one-off bespoke designs or mass production.
